The Znackr Story

The idea behind Znackr started when was in Colombia during the holidays, over 10 years ago, visiting family. I’d usually travel there every few years, and the food—like it does everywhere else—brought us together. Whether it was over the delicacy sancocho, arepa, aguapanela, or the distinctively Colombian spirit,  “Aguardiente,” we’d share stories and dish out a good roast (pun intended) from time to time, creating experiences and memories around food. It was during one of these outings that I noticed my sister capture a photo of her meal. It wasn’t anything new; I’d seen that many times before. But it was the moment the idea behind Znackr was born.

I thought more and more about why that moment became so pivotal. Then it was obvious—everyone in my family has their own relationship with food experiences. I realized they’re probably not unique, and most folks probably share the same sentiments about food experiences, but it created the idea of giving anyone sitting in any corner of any food spot the opportunity to share their moment beyond their tables, outside of their families, and create an unexpected opportunity for someone they may probably never meet…because…why not?

My mother made it her responsibility to bring a plate back to a family member who couldn’t make it to the gathering. My father preferred (and still does) to stay in his comfort zone and begrudgingly admits when he enjoys something other than the timeless bacon cheeseburger. My brother is the “outside the box thinker,” usually proposing we try different types of food—Thai, Japanese, Korean BBQ—maybe he just likes Asian food, actually? And I just enjoyed going along for the ride, although I usually vote for pizza.

This insight inspired Znackr (pronounced just like snacker). Znackr has a place for everyone. The sisters who need to capture the food moment; the mother who doesn’t forget to share with those who couldn’t make it; the brother with a new suggestion; the father who obstinately sticks to what he prefers; and those of us who really couldn’t care less, as long as it’s a good time.

Whether it’s trying out a new coffee shop on a roadtrip, warming up with soup on a cold afternoon, the energetic atmosphere of a pub during a big game, or the order of “half and half” turning out to be a beer combo instead of an Arnold Palmer—these everyday moments create an opportunity to share beyond our immediate environment, and in a way that makes every food experience timeless.

Znackr turns those moments into Znacks—they don’t just sit in a feed (pun completely intended)—they create real-world action, discovery, and joy.

So, here’s to intentionally creating, sharing, and enjoying good food experiences with Znackr.

Warmly,

Charlie
